Hurricane Katrina

Hi There Everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been glued to the television all morning on the hurricane in LA and MS. Katrina is surely going to be something people remember for years. I hope people who decided to stay behind and not evacuate their homes make it through this storm. The flooding has to be the most scary thing, there isn't much you can do to get away from it once it starts. Hurricanes are no laughing matter; Jordan and I went through Frances and Jeanne last year, and neither of those were bad and we were nervous sitting through them. It has to be horrible there right now, the wind, rain, heat, floods, and power outages. I guess all one can really do is pray that nobody dies during this attack from mother nature. Katrina is a category 2 right now, hopefully it will hurry up and break down into a tropical storm and depression. She is supposed to work her way up toward Massachusetts later in the week. I'm sure it's going to be an icky week. We've had rain since last night off and on, so it's extremely humid here today.

Apartment

This is our apartment. Not many pics, but a few to give everyone an idea of it. We haven't got the bedroom and office all together yet, but we are getting there.

More pictures

Our new apartment is so nice. I love it so far. The kitchen has a billion cabinets and there are just so many closet storage areas.

So more pictures are here from the move.

Angie & Ken on the road

Well Angie and Ken left this morning to drive back to NC. Of course I cried when they left. It is hard to say good-bye to everyone. It just hits you that you are here alone again, and there is nothing you can do to change it. Although we do have something to look forward to, Katie is coming up on labor day weekend to see us. I can't wait to see her, it's been since March.

We may eat lunch in Boston, and then drive back here to Methuen. The drive is rather short going, coming back is a pain in the rear though. I can't wait to see her though!

I guess I will start job hunting this week. Thinking about the borders down the street and maybe some other stores that are right there. I was hoping to find some more independent stores, but this area is so small and i feel that it is going to take me a while to learn my way around here. The town is so different than Orlando. Small streets and a good amount of traffic, not bad though.

Well think i am going to try and get Jordan out of the bed, he felt that he needed a nap. haha, we've only been up for like 3 hours.

More Pizza Party

We got some Great pics at the pizza party in NC. Between everyone's camera's we caught a little of all the family.

Below are just pics of that and the long drive from NC to MA. We didn't think we'd ever get to Methuen once we got to Massachusetts. But we finally did and man were we ready to go to bed.

The pictures aren't in any specific order. Just on here. i think they almost go completely backwards. I have more to load later.

Jordan took this one of us in the malibu

We decided to go to Boston, this is right out of
the North Station at Quincy's Market.

Monday morning, pulling out of the driveway in NC.
This was almost a disaster because somehow
Ken and Jordan didn't shut the door on the
back of the truck. Thank goodness i
noticed it before leaving the driveway!

the best pics i've ever had of him

Pizza Party in NC

Today was a lot of fun. We had family and friends get together it was so great to see them. We had our parents, aunts and uncles and everything there. Jordan's grandparents were there too. The pizza was perfect and everyone brought the best sweets and treats. It was some good eating. My dad was there and he was walking almost normal, still weird to think about all that has happened to his leg in the past year. I was glad to see him able to walk across a parking lot to the picnic shelter. Sara Saul also came near the end, and I was so glad she was able to make it because I haven't seen her that much or talked to her that much either since we moved. Charlie Walker came and so I got to see his new tattoo's.

Angie is frying up some chicken right now. It smells so good. I need to get busy and make some stuff for the road to eat since we are leaving tomorrow morning around 7 am for Massachusetts. So much to do and such little time left to do it all in.

I got some GREAT pics at the picnic shelter, I'll update them when we get to MA.

Arrival in NC

So I got in NC today around 1 pm. My flight kept getting delayed and all that fun stuff. I met some interesting people on my flight to GSO. Probably the nicest people ever in an airport, the flight attendant was a total snob though. I just talked to Jordan and Ken a few minutes ago and they are about in Durham. He said he would be here in burlington around 10 pm which is exciting. I can't wait to have them here safe and sound. I also found out that my friend Charlie is coming tomorrow to our family get together at the park. I am excited to see him since it's been like a year since we saw him.

Angie and I went to the new Target and Harris Teeter tonight. We also got pedicures at the nail place which was relaxing. The new shopping center is so weird looking to me since it was the first time I have seen it finished, although not everything is open.

Oreo handled the flight pretty well, and the ride home. She was shedding pretty bad though. After that we took her to the house here and let her have free roam of the entire downstairs.

Tonight we had Harbor Inn and it was SOOOO good. I love NC seafood and barbque. I can't wait to have the family get together tomorrow with everyone and the food at the park. Hopefully my dad can walk around some. that will be exciting for me to see.

Well gonna go for now. I am gonna change clothes and get comfy and find Oreo since she is roaming around freely.

Boxes Boxes Everywhere

So we have boxes from one end of our house to the other. So much to do, so much to be done. We have cleaned our bathroom and the kitchen. All we have to do now is clean the carpet and all that fun stuff. Our carpet is probably going to look much worse at the end of tomorrow night though. Sunday is our family get together and I am so excited for that. It will be lots of fun.

Well i'll update as soon as I get all set up in Massachusetts.

Computers Down

Well Ken gets here tomorrow to help us with the move, and tomorrow night is when we pack EVERYTHING into the truck. So tonight will be the end of the computer until we get the internet turned on up there in MA on Tues. We are both excited, still have a good deal to do though. Well I'll write more once we are in our new home.

Wicked

So we went to Barnes and Noble last night and I decided to get a new book to read while moving etc and to help me relax through the stress of moving again. I searched and searched, but nothing seemed to appease my wants. I went to the front of the store to search for Jordan, thinking we would leave without me getting anything and I saw 'Wicked' on one of the front tables. I picked it up and started reading the first chapter of the first book in it. I was so wrapped up in it that I decided to get it. I read about forty- five pages last night and something like forty so far tonight, which I am taking a short break right now. It is a very interesting book. I started book two in it tonight, and it is soo good. This will definitely become a favorite book of mine. Only have like 320 pages to go, haha, but it's well worth it.

Today was Jordan's last day at n-space, so he had a good day. I know he is glad to not have to go back there anymore.

I didn't have such a good day, I stayed up until like 6 am to hear the sonic boom, which didnt' happen because Discovery landed in California. I was very disappointed cause I was extremely excited about that. So I slept really late, today and when I awoke the bathroom was flooded. Yippee. Stupid toilet was leaking. yuck, so they came to fix it, but I went in there a little bit ago to find it leaking again. I'll be glad to leave here.

So our lease from Mass. is supposed to get here tomorrow for us to sign and send back. Then they will send our keys to us. I'll be glad when all that is settled.

So much is going on. I am just ready for it all to be done with.

Going Away Party

So Sunday was a pretty eventful day, we had lots going on. I went to eat with my girls from Country Clutter one last time and that was rather sad. They were all so sweet though, they each got me a little something which was a nice surprise. We went to the Miller's Ale House, and we all had zingers and cookie cake. yum! After that I came home to do some packing with Jordan. It is so nice to know that i will never have to deal with n-space or the vinings again. I am so finished with the people here at our apartment complex and the people that Jordan works for.

Tomorrow is going to be my day of calling people to cancel services and to start new services. Lots of fun. I hate customer service people. They love to give you the runaround...i'll be glad when i can be done with all of it.

I'll post the pics when i get time.

Massachusetts

We are moving in 8 days, and it seems to be going by so slow. Saturday is my last day at Country Clutter, and i'm excited about that, although it'll be sad to say good-bye. Sunday the guys from n-space are giving us a cook out at the pool which will be wild as always. Around 9 the girls at Country Clutter are taking me to Ale House...so there will be lots of eating on Sunday. Yum...

This is the dining room view from the kitchen, lots of boxes in a small space.

Another view of the dining room.

Our closet, pretty empty. You normally can't see any of the shelves.

Oreo under my desk, just thought i'd add this in

Flying Home

Yay! I'm flying home to NC instead of riding in the Penske with Jordan and Ken. Oreo and I will be flying into Greensboro and we'll be there around noon that day. Yippee! We'll have to get some Short Sugars and cheerwine on the way in from Greensboro.

I can't wait to be in NC!

Beth Schmidt Park

Forgot to mention we will be in NC for one day, and we are having a get together, and for the first time we will have both families together. Some friends will be there as well, mainly people from high school and Jordan's college. I'm sure it'll be fun to see people we've not seen in over a year. I'm really looking forward to all that NC hospitality. We can't wait to see everyone!

Pizza and homemade ice cream...yum

It'd be great if we had more free time to visit, but it's a pretty long distance to move in just a few days. I'm sure we'll see everyone a lot more in the next year.

Whenever we have internet and time up there i'll post plenty of them on here for everyone to view.

Preparing to move again!

Jordan got a new job in Methuen MA, so we are moving again. Yay! We are moving in like eight days and we are both so excited. It's going to be great to get out of Orlando considering all the heat and storms coming it's way.

Hopefully I'll have some decent pictures to post of us moving and how it all goes. Let's pray it all goes smoothly for us. Angie and Ken are helping out a great deal, without that who knows if this would all be possible.

The company he is going to work at is Mad Doc software, and it's in Lawrence Massachusetts. So we will be living about 30 miles north of Boston. This is going to come in handy around the holidays since Katie lives in NY now. I have a feeling lots of train tickets will be purchased in the next year.

well enjoy.

below are some pictures of the packing and oreo
